Support & communications

When you contact us (email, forms, SMS, or phone), we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email, phone number, and message content, to respond and resolve your request. See SMS/Text Support & Offers for more on texts.

Chatbot and AI Interactions

We offer products, features, and tools powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning (collectively, the “Chatbot”). These tools are designed to enhance your experience and provide support and recommendations.

What we collect via the Chatbot

  • User Inputs: text you type or content you upload to the Chatbot (e.g., questions, preferences, order or device details you share).
  • Outputs: responses generated for you by the Chatbot.
  • Metadata: technical and usage data (e.g., timestamps, interaction counts) to operate, secure, and improve the Chatbot.

How we process Chatbot data

  • To provide, troubleshoot, and improve the Chatbot experience.
  • To personalize content and suggestions consistent with your settings.
  • For security, abuse prevention, and to comply with law.

Third-party AI service providers

We provide the Chatbot through third-party AI service providers. Your Chatbot inputs, outputs, and related Personal Information may be shared with and processed by these providers to enable the Chatbot. We require appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. You must not use the Chatbot in any way that violates the terms or policies of any AI service provider.

Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where required, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent; performance of a contract; compliance with legal obligations; protection of vital interests; and/or our legitimate interests (e.g., providing and improving the Chatbot). You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing.

Your choices

Data retention for Chatbot interactions

We retain Chatbot-related Personal Information only as long as necessary to provide the Chatbot, for the purposes described above, and as required or permitted by law. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. If deletion is not immediately possible (e.g., due to backups), we securely store and isolate it until deletion can occur.

Using Personal Information

We use your Personal Information to provide our services to you, including offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfillment of orders, providing support, and keeping you updated on new products, services, and offers. We also communicate with you about products, services, and events offered by Plunge and others, request feedback, and send news, gifts, or other information we think will be of interest to you (subject to your consent where required by law). You may opt out of marketing communications at any time (see Promotional Communications).

Promotional Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails by following the instructions in those emails or by signing into your account in the iOS app and managing your email preferences. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as those about your account or ongoing transactions.

SMS/Text Support & Offers

We use third-party services to send text messages to customers who have specifically opted in.

Marketing SMS (PostScript): We send occasional news and offers via text message to customers who opt in during checkout. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "STOP." PostScript Messaging Terms and Messaging Privacy Policy apply.

Support SMS (Twilio): When you submit a support request through our contact form and provide your phone number, you may receive SMS messages from Plunge regarding your support case (e.g., requests to upload photos or videos, case updates). You opt in by checking the SMS consent checkbox and submitting the form. You can opt out at any time by replying "STOP." Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your support case. Reply HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text messaging services.

Sharing Personal Information

We share Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfill contracts (e.g., Shopify for ecommerce, logistics partners for shipping, analytics and advertising partners, and AI service providers for the Chatbot). We may also share information to comply with applicable laws and regulations; respond to lawful requests (e.g., subpoenas, warrants); or protect our rights.

Business Transfers

We may share or transfer information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

Behavioral Advertising

We use Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest. For example, we use Google Analytics to understand how customers use the Site, and we may share information about your Site usage, purchases, and interactions with our ads on other websites with advertising partners. Depending on your location, we will obtain your consent for cookies and similar technologies and provide opt-out options as required.

Opt-out resources include platform settings (e.g., Facebook, Google, Bing) and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out portal.

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of information downloaded to your device when you visit our Site. We use various cookies—functional, performance, advertising, and social media—to remember preferences and understand how the Site is used. You can control and manage cookies in your browser settings; removing or blocking cookies may impact your experience.

We list the cookies we commonly use (including Shopify cookies) and typical durations in our cookie table, which may be updated from time to time.

Lawful Basis (GDPR/EEA)

If you are a resident of the EEA/UK, we process Personal Information under one or more of the following lawful bases: consent; performance of a contract; compliance with legal obligations; protection of vital interests; public interest; and legitimate interests that do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object or restrict certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (e.g., CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, IN, IA, KY, MD, MN, MT, NE, NH, NJ, OR, RI, TN, TX, UT, VA), you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your Personal Information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Contact. We will verify requests as required by law and respond within applicable timelines. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Retention

When you place an order through the Site—or interact with the Chatbot—we retain Personal Information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy (e.g., to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements). When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information; if that is not immediately possible (e.g., due to backups), we securely store and isolate the information until deletion is possible.

Automated Decision-Making

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Limited automated processes may be used for purposes such as fraud prevention, spam detection, performance optimization, or personalization within the Chatbot. These processes include, for example, automated checks by our ecommerce processor (Shopify) to prevent fraudulent transactions. Such processing does not have a legal or significant effect on users and always operates under human or system oversight.

How We Keep Information Safe

We implement appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect Personal Information. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure. Transmission of Personal Information to and from the Site is at your own risk; you should use a secure environment.

Do Not Track

Because there is no consistent industry understanding of how to respond to “Do Not Track” signals, we do not alter our data collection and usage practices when we detect such a signal from your browser. If an industry or legal standard is adopted that we must follow, we will update this Policy accordingly.

Minors

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 14, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us to request deletion.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date will indicate the most recent revision. For material changes, we may provide additional notice as required.
